ReciKeep help

The questions we get most often, with the answer that usually helps.

Frequently asked questions

I can't see all my recipes. Are they gone?

No. First update ReciKeep to the latest version: in older versions the overview stopped after 20 recipes. Then pull down on the overview to refresh. If you have an account, the app also fetches your recipes from the server again. You can always find a single recipe with the search bar.

The app says my recipes can't be loaded. What now?

Tap "Repair database" on the error screen; that is usually enough. If you're logged in, the app then restores your recipes from your account. If that doesn't work, update the app from the App Store or Google Play, or delete it and install it again. Still stuck? Tap "Contact us" and the technical details are sent along automatically.

Why won't my Instagram or TikTok video import?

Videos from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube need a free account, and the post has to be public: we can't read private accounts. If the recipe isn't in the video or the caption, the AI can't find it either. Amounts the creator never mentions are left empty instead of guessed. Processing a video usually takes 1 to 3 minutes. If a link keeps failing, send it to info@serff.nl.

Can I save recipes from Facebook?

No. Facebook only shows posts after you log in, so the app can't reach them. Copy the recipe text from the post and paste it into ReciKeep; the app will still turn it into a recipe.

Can I save a recipe from my notes or a message?

Yes. Paste the text into the import field, or share the note or message straight to ReciKeep with the share icon. This works without an account too.

How do I move my recipes to a new phone or a second device?

Create a free account in the app and log in on the new device with the same email address; your recipes and lists come along automatically. Without an account you can use Settings › Create backup to save a file, then restore it on the new device with Restore backup.

My lists don't show up on my other device.

Update the app on both devices and log in on both with the same account. Lists are fetched every time the app starts, and you can pull down on the lists overview to refresh. If you once created a list with the same name separately on two devices, both stay; you can delete the duplicate.

Can I change the order of my lists?

Yes. Pick a sort order on the lists overview: Recently added, Name A-Z, Number of recipes or Custom order. With Custom order you put the lists where you want them.

Is ReciKeep free? And why do I see a limit?

ReciKeep is free to use, and credits no longer exist. There is a generous daily limit on video imports, because processing a video costs us money. A failed import doesn't count towards it. If you still see a credits counter, you're on an old version: update the app.

Scanning a photo gives an error.

Take a sharp photo of the whole recipe, straight from above and with enough light. If the image is very large, choose a smaller one or take a new photo. If it still fails, send the photo to info@serff.nl and we'll look at where the recognition gets stuck.
