Delete account

For the ReciKeep app by Serff Webdevelopment

You can delete your ReciKeep account at any time. You can do this directly in the app, or otherwise by email. Below you will find exactly how, and what happens to your data afterwards.

1. In the app

1. Open ReciKeep and go to Profile.
2. Tap Delete account at the bottom.
3. Read the warning and type the confirmation word shown in the app.
4. Confirm. Your account and your data on our server are deleted immediately.

The app then asks whether you also want to erase the recipes that are only stored on this device. If you choose "keep", they stay on your phone and you can keep using them without an account.

2. Without the app

No longer have the app on your device? Then send an email from the address you used to create your account to info@serff.nl with the subject "Delete account". We process your request within 30 days and confirm by email once it has been carried out.

3. What is deleted

When you delete your account, we immediately and irreversibly erase:

• your account details, including your email address and your name;
• your recipes on our server, including titles, ingredients, method steps and uploaded images;
• your shopping and recipe lists, and your membership of other people's lists;
• drafts of recipes you have not finished yet;
• recipes you have shared, and pending invitations you have sent;
• your login tokens, which signs you out on all devices at once.

Do you share a list with others and are you the owner? Then ownership passes to another member, so their data does not disappear along with your account. If there is no other member, the list is deleted.

4. What is kept, and for how long

Our technical log files remain, but are anonymised at the same moment: the link to you is removed, so the entries can no longer be traced back to a person. This concerns server and error logs, failed imports, usage statistics of AI features and notification events. We keep these anonymised entries no longer than needed for error diagnosis, abuse detection and cost monitoring, and they are cleaned up periodically.

In addition, we may keep data where a legal retention obligation requires it, for example for our financial records. Outside those cases, we keep nothing after deletion that can be traced back to you.

5. Recipes on your own device

ReciKeep also stores your recipes locally on your phone. Those are out of our reach: we cannot see them and cannot delete them. If you want them gone, choose to erase them locally as well when deleting, or remove the app from your device.
